The Outlet Dance Project
Holds Its Annual Festival At Grounds For Sculpture On October 5th, 2013
On
Saturday, October 5th at 1pm, rain or shine, The
Outlet Dance Project’s popular festival of women choreographers and dance
filmmakers will take place at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. This afternoon of site-specific
performance, staged dance, and dance films is a whole new way for the entire
family to experience both dance and Grounds for Sculpture’s 42 acres.
The
Outlet Dance Project is an annual festival committed to collaboration,
community building, interdisciplinary experimentation, and the exploration of
the audience/performer relationship. It provides women choreographers of all
traditional and nontraditional dance genres an opportunity to share their
artistic vision. Through partnership with Grounds For Sculpture, community
outreach, and performance, The Outlet Dance Project strives to enrich the
region with dance.
This year’s choreographers
are Ananda Bena-Weber, Jamuna Chiarini, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, DanceSpora
Dance Company, Maureen Glennon, Jeremy Ruth Howes, Hsiao-Wei and Hsiao-Ting
Hsieh, Gale Jackson and Sheila Anozier, J.P. Movement of the People Dance
Company, Kathleen Kececi/Lisa Peluso, Pilar Castro Kiltz, and Rain Ross. Dance
films by Ann And Alexx Make Dances, Zena Bibler, Loren Groenendaal, Catherine
Mueller, Nandini Sikand/Andy Smith, and Blakeley White-McGuire will be shown.
